I’m asked all the time how much my diet has chan I’m asked all the time how much my diet has changed since I went through my candida diet years ago.

While I have certainly enjoyed things like wine, cheese, or gluten on occasion, I’ve also found ways to continue to make healthier swaps to some of my favorite dishes. 

To me, comfort food = Mexican food.  Always has. Always will. One of the hardest things for me on the candida diet was missing out on all the things I love most: Refried beans. Gooey cheese. Flour tortillas. Mmm....

So now when I’m craving some of my favorite comfort foods, I try to make simple swaps where I can, like these...

My Healthier Chilaquiles:
- @sietefoods grain free tortilla chips 
- black beans
- sautéed red, yellow, green peppers, seasoned with cumin 
- 2 @vitalfarms fried eggs
- topped with salsa (not pictured)

No cheese, no refried beans, no conventional tortilla or corn chips. But it still has loads of delicious flavor, and I have a happy tummy ❤️

What candida friendly snack are you enjoying today?
Starting my day with a warm cup of lemon ginger te Starting my day with a warm cup of lemon ginger tea and drinking in this amazing view. 

I’ve been trying to be very intentional, especially these last few months, with prioritizing what *I* need, what will fill up MY cup, so I can continue to show up and support my family, clients and friends more fully and not burn out. 

For me that has really meant finding a few nights here and there to get away on my own, to recharge, rest, and yes, even work (but without distraction). 

It’s meant being in nature, whether walking on the beach or sitting somewhere like I am this morning, listening to all the birds and squirrels throughout Topanga Canyon. 

Or setting boundaries with my time and energy, like not replying to every single DM I receive anymore, and not giving away my coaching for free, and being ok with that, despite how much I want to help everyone. 

It’s also meant starting every day with a warm water, lemon water or tea, to help calmly wake up my body and mind. 

Really soaking up these three nights away from my family, the longest I’ve ever been away from my baby, and knowing that it’s what I needed so I can be the best version of myself 💕

35. This past year was one of tremendous growth an 35. This past year was one of tremendous growth and expansion. 

I worked my butt off, working 2 remote jobs while parenting a toddler at home during a pandemic 😳 and saw my coaching business bloom so far beyond where it was only a year ago. 

I can’t wait to see what magic and adventures are to come this year ✨

But first, a bit about how I got here...

I spent over three years struggling with chronic yeast infections, plus digestive issues, crippling anxiety, increasingly poor memory, weight I couldn’t lose, an awful immune system, and overall feeling very unbalanced. (I didn’t understand then how these were all connected!) 

I could not figure out WHY I had chronic yeast infections, and Drs didn’t seem interested in investigating. I drove myself crazy in chat rooms with depressing stories of failed marriages. It was taking a major toll on my marriage, too. I worried whether I would ever be able to get pregnant, and if I did, would I pass my issues to the baby?!

What I needed was someone who had been through this, who could hold my hand, answer my questions, validate my experience and help me heal. I didn’t find that, and my journey took longer than it needed to. 

When I was introduced to the idea that nutrition could help me, I didn’t understand the connection. How would my diet fix my vagina?? But I was at my rock-bottom and committed 100% to prioritizing my health. 

The changes I implemented in my diet and lifestyle saved my life. They saved my marriage, and they definitely helped bring this little one to me, happy and healthy. 💕

I believe so much in the power of nutrition that I became certified as an integrative nutrition health coach, helping other women 1:1, giving them exactly the support that I never got. 

One thing that has stood out with every one of my clients is they feel isolated and alone in their struggles. Sometimes I am the only person they feel like they can talk to.
